20th ILO REGIONAL CONFERENCE FOR LABOUR BASED PRACTITIONERS
Call For Papers
The Organizing Committee for the 20th IRegional Conference invites high quality papers on research & technical works, case studies, technology updates etc., addressing one of the following Conference theme and sub-themes.
Main Theme
Resilient communities and Healthy Environment: the EIIP approach
Sub-Themes
- Investing in sustainability in a context of fragility
- Striking the balance between the use of labour, technology and Sustainability to drive decent jobs
- Creating more resilient urban infrastructure and communities
- Maximizing the social impact of infrastructure development

Accepted papers will be included as part of resource materials to be published in written and electronic format in English and French and distributed to all delegates. Authors of accepted technical papers will also be invited to present their papers in the relevant sessions of the 20th Regional Conference to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 19th to 23rd May 2025.
Please note that all papers submitted in response to this Call will be subjected to a full peer review process in accordance with criteria laid out by the organizing committee. Note also that Papers that are commercial or promotional in nature will not be considered.
Individuals/groups wishing to present papers are invited to send a one page abstract written in English/French, to the National Organizing Committee. Abstracts should be submitted online or sent by e-mail to the Conference Secretariat at www.iloethiopia2025.gov.et or email: iloethiopia2025@era.gov.et
Abstracts should be between 300 – 400 words. The purpose of the abstract is to describe the content of the paper and give enough indication regarding the content of the paper to encourage the reader’s interest. Please also indicate up to three key informative takeaways for the audience summarizing the key subjects covered by the paper. The following information should also be included on the same page:
- Title of the paper;
- Name(s) of author and co-author(s);
- The corresponding author’s title, initials and name, organization and postal address, phone, fax and e-mail details.
