Ethiopian Road Administration Invitation to the
20th ILO Regional Conference

From humble beginnings as a small gathering of 21 labour-based engineers in Mbeya, Tanzania, in 1990, the regional Conference has become an international attraction bringing over 500 practitioners from Africa, Asia, LA & elsewhere. The Conference is now self-financing and nationally owned event, offering an international platform for south-south learning on pro-employment practices.

The Conference is held at intervals of eighteen months, at a different venue each time, within the African continent and conducted in spirit of south-south cooperation and international solidarity. The last Conference, which was the nineteenth in the series, was held in Kigali, Rwanda, from the 15-19 May 2023 under the theme ‘Promoting skills and productive (decent) jobs for our common better future’. Some 1060 participants from 42 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and America attended the Kigali Conference.
