The 20th International Labour Organization (ILO) Regional Conference for Labour-Based Practitioners will take place from May 19 to 23, 2025, at the African Union Conference Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), the Ethiopian Roads Administration (ERA), and the International Labour Organization (ILO), this prestigious event will centre on the theme: "Resilient Communities and Healthy Environment: The Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP) Approach."

It is a great honor for the Ethiopian Roads Administration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban
and Infrastructure, to host this milestone event in Addis Ababa. We are delighted to welcome over 2,000
participants from more than 70 countries, including policymakers, development partners, workers' and
employers' organizations, academics, and technical experts.
This conference comes at a pivotal time for Ethiopia and the region, as we work collectively to
integrate employment-intensive strategies into infrastructure development-strategies that promote decent
work, inclusive growth, and sustainable livelihoods.
Through more than 30 dynamic sessions, this conference offers a platform to share innovations, policy
